The platform for fast messaging across medical systems in crisis situations, the software solution developed by Belgrade company Heliant, will be available to more than 30.000 healthcare professionals in state healthcare facilities in Serbia in ten days.

This was confirmed for eKapija by Mr Vukašin Radulović, the co-founder of this local IT software development company, which is more recognizable by its eHealth and e-Help products.

Rešenje firme Heliant jedno je od 12 inovativnih projekat a koji se finansiraju iz sredstava Fonda za inovacionu delatnost.

-Our software HERMES (Heliant Real-time Messaging System), and/or real-time data exchange system, has been operating for 20 years now and is used in more than 200 hospitals in Serbia, at the individual healthcare facility level. Our innovative idea was to improve HERMES to ensure that physicians in all out healthcare facilities could communicate among each other, consult each other, be provided with important regulations, lists of medicines, etc., and that all of them receive such information at the same time. In the last 5, 10 years, it has become a more practical way of operating than e-mail, because healthcare facilities in some locations do not have Internet access for safety reasons – Radulović explains.

He notes that many healthcare facilities that are on the front defence line from Covid-19 are Heliant users, such as the Infectious Diseases Clinic of the Clinical Centre of Serbia, “Dragiša Mišović” Hospital, CHC Zvezdara and other facilities.

Mr Radulović says that this new platform will now be available to all important protagonists in defence actions against coronavirus.

The Crisis Group, the Government, the Institute of Public Health, the Serbian Health Insurance Fund will be given access to HERMES, so that in addition to regular communication channels, they will now have the opportunity to receive information in a second – Radulović says.
