A conference was held yesterday at the Faculty of Law of the University of Belgrade on the occasion of the launch of an innovative study program entitled “Health and Pharmaceutical Law“.
This program, the first of its kind in Southeast Europe, deals with legal regulation in the field of healthcare and the pharmaceutical industry, and provides a unique opportunity for a multidisciplinary approach to the education of professionals. The course was organized by the Faculty of Law of the University of Belgrade, with the non-material support of Healthpharm, the Pharmaceutical Chamber of Serbia, the Medical Chamber of Serbia and the Belgrade Center for Medical and Pharmaceutical Law – Harmonius.
The reason for organizing the conference were the challenges brought by the rapid development of the healthcare and pharmaceutical market. In addition to keeping up with modern trends, professionals such as lawyers, physicians, pharmacists, dentists and clinical study experts have an increasing responsibility to provide legal, ethical and safe services to patients.
Introductory presentations were given by: prof. Dr. Nenad Tešić, founder of HEALTHPHARM and LEGAL PRO FORUM, Pavle Zelić from the Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices of Serbia, Slavica Milutinović, Director of the Pharmaceutical Chamber of Serbia, Dr. Mihailo Stjepanović, Director of the Clinic for Pulmonology UCCS and representative of the Medical Chamber of Serbia, Dr. Bojan Trkulja, director of the Association of the Manufacturers of Innovative Drugs INOVIA and Ana Popović, director of the Association GENEZIS.
The participants have emphasized the importance of cooperation between experts in order to improve the legal and regulatory aspects of the sector, whose common mission within this multidisciplinary approach is to ensure that the rights of all users of healthcare and pharmaceutical services are exercised.

At the end of the lecture, a joint gathering of the Healthpharm Club and the Legal Mind Club was held with wine, under the auspices of the company “Heliant”.
The program “Health and Pharmaceutical Law” aims to enable the acquisition of theoretical and practical skills necessary to address modern challenges such as the protection of patients’ rights, legal aspects of digitalization in healthcare, data protection in the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors, etc.
The program is designed in accordance with global trends, as well as local market needs, and is an important step towards the modernization of the education system and the improvement of healthcare services.
