The director of a reputable healthcare facility in Ćuprija with 898 employees and a tradition of 143 years talks about the implementation of information systems of the company “Heliant”.
“I have to admit, at first I was afraid of the implementation of the new health information system. It’s a big system, and I’m a doctor, anaesthesiologist and toxicologist, I’m not an IT expert,” says MD Slobodan Gajić, acting director general of the General Hospital Ćuprija, in the interview for heliant.rs.
“I told that to Vladica from “Heliant”, who was setting up the system with his team,” says MD Gajić. “And he tells me: “Doctor, don’t worry, this is not our first time”. “It’s not for you,” I tell him, “but it is for me” says MD Gajić with a laugh.
“I was really afraid of switching to the new system, I was worried about all the data that needs to be transferred, it’s a huge job… Everything, however, was completed extremely well and successfully,” points out the director of the renowned Ćuprija hospital, healthcare facility with a long tradition.
The hospital has 898 employees and 469 beds. The hospital area that covers 13 hectares, includes twenty buildings, totalling 29,000 covered square meters.
Since 15 December 2023, GH Ćuprija has been completely networked in the Heliant Health Information System. The Laboratory Information System INFOLAB LIS was also installed, as well as the financial Moneo in the Medical Supply Service.
MD Gajić says that they had lots of problems with the previous information system, as well as with two servers that were “dying”, and the purchase of new ones was expensive.
“With the installation and transfer of data to the data centre, we managed to avoid the purchase of those servers and their maintenance. And that technical part is the reason why I am overjoyed that we switched to Heliant and got rid of that burdain,” points out the GH Ćuprija director.
He says his fear disappeared when he saw how the system worked. He is also satisfied with the fact that the Heliant team provides technical support in relation to all problems, trains employees and implements requests for supplementing IT networking.
In regards to that, everything was really top-notch,” says MD Gajić, who notes that reporting to the National Health Insurance Fund has also been improved.
“For these three months, the Fund has not even sent a reminder that we should provide them with some reports or that they are deficient, which used to be the case, since the entire process is now automated,” says the acting director general of the GH Ćuprija for heliant.rs.
