The Serbian Government’s Innovation Fund has granted RSD 53 million for funding 12 innovative projects designed to help suppress the effects of the coronavirus pandemic in our country.

Among the best 12 project, out of nearly 300 filed projects, the Fund awarded Heliant’s “Hermes Covid” platform for fast messaging in the Covid-19 pandemic conditions.

It is a solution in the form of a platform for fast messaging across medical systems in crisis situations. This is the only IT project to have received support in the competition.

The idea behind the Innovation Fund’s competition is to make available the solutions that can be used within a very short time and that can help in combating the coronavirus spreading among the population.

The projects awarded by the Fund are:

– Voxellab’s fast 3D printing system for urgently needed parts for machines and medical devices.
– A new type of protective mask with removable HEPA filter for multiple and long-term use, made by CCS Solutions.
– A range of products for the disinfection of rooms and items by using ultraviolet radiation, offered by the company Metaling.
– Doubling of the production of sodium hypochlorite as one of the most important disinfectants, by SIGMA KULA.
– SmartResearch develops the first Serbian mechanical ventilator.
– Disinfection booth intended for use in public places and sites of interest, 365ADS.
– Aerosol disinfection system for use in industry and hazardous environments, developed by Corten Art.
– Portable ozonisers for fast and safe disinfection of critical facilities operated by SKV Garant.
– The production of fully disposable Protective Suits by Advertout.
– Mobile counter for contactless temperature measurement and manual disinfection by Hola Systems.
– Biological disinfectant with antiviral and antibacterial activity, developed by Agrounik.

On 17 March 2020, the Innovation Fund announced a public invitation to small and middle-sized enterprises. The deadline for project submission was only one week due to the urgency, but by March 24, nearly 300 companies came forward with project proposals with practical solutions in different segments of the fight against the spread of coronavirus.

The invitation also did not imply the development of medicines and vaccines. Each project was awarded with the amount of up to six million dinars.
