Another Subotica Business Run is behind us, and this year once again the Heliant Runners proved that programmers, consultants, and IT professionals could successfully trade their office chairs for running shoes—at least for a five-kilometre race around Lake Palić.
This year’s race brought together 697 participants, while Heliant was represented by 10 runners and champions—five women and five men.
A special highlight this year was the introduction of a new walking category. Heliant, of course, had its own representative in this challenging discipline as well, demonstrating the company’s broad sporting spirit—from serious race times to strategic and determined walking around Lake Palić.
In the team rankings, Heliant achieved an excellent 33rd place among 51 companies, a highly respectable result considering the increasingly strong competition.
As in previous Business Run events in Subotica, Niš, and Belgrade, the Heliant Runners once again demonstrated impressive consistency and quality. The team was not made up only of individuals who “flew” across the course, but of a whole generation of dedicated runners who steadily improved their times, maintained their pace, and reached the finish line with a smile. Although that smile during the final 500 meters might sometimes look more like a battle for breath, it only showed the level of effort and commitment the Runners were willing to put in.
The fastest male runner was Boban Mladenović, who completed the five-kilometre course in an impressive 26 minutes and 9 seconds, placing 136th overall. Close behind him were Nemanja Vuletić and Nikola Joksimović, showing that the men’s team continued to improve from race to race.
Among the women, Doroteja Mitrović delivered an outstanding performance, crossing the finish line in 27:53 and once again confirming that Heliant had a strong women’s running team for years. She was followed by Barbara Krstić, Jasmina Stojić, and Violeta Petrović, making the internal competition within the team almost as exciting as the race itself.
Of course, what mattered most at Business Run events was not only the result, but also the opportunity to spend time together, enjoy a great atmosphere, and celebrate the fact that every team member successfully completed the race.
