The Sixth Congress of Healthcare Professionals in the Private Sector, entitled “Multidisciplinary Patient Approach: New Solutions to Old Problems”, was held on 21 and 22 February at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Belgrade.

A traditional gathering of over 1,000 experts from various fields of healthcare was organized by the Association of Private Healthcare Facilities and Private Practices of Serbia, counting 775 members.

The Congress once again showed that it became an important platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience among medical doctors, pharmacists, nurses, biochemists and healthcare technicians.

The Challenges of Modern Medicine

This year’s accredited program covered current topics that were essential for modern medicine:

* Antibiotic therapy: strategies for rational administration of antibiotics were analysed, with a focus on bacterial resistance, optimal dosing regimens and laboratory diagnostics.

* Cardio-renno-metabolic syndrome: the association between cardiovascular, renal and metabolic disorders was highlighted, as well as new therapeutic approaches that were being developed in this area.

* Better ageing: this session highlighted the importance of prevention, anti-aging interventions and nutritional support to improve the quality of life of elderly patients.

Open discussion on topics that are often avoided

The final session opened a dialogue on topics that were often avoided and that patients were reluctant to talk about, and doctors did not ask: problems such as erectile dysfunction, urinary incontinence and addictions were openly discussed at the conference.

The congress also presented innovative therapies, modern pharmaceutical approaches and new diagnostic solutions, providing valuable insights into the latest medical achievements.

Discussions with eminent experts contributed to a better understanding of the current challenges and the possibilities for overcoming them.
