On Saturday, November 23, the premises of the company “Heliant” were a real oasis of children’s curiosity! We hosted students of the programming school “Moj genijalac” from Kruševac, who, under the guidance of computer science professor Davor Jovanović, came to peek into the magical world of the software industry and get to know the work of a company that employs over 50 programmers.

We have presented to children between 6 to 14 years of age, who want to become programmers and engineers, what it looks like to work in a domestic software company and what exactly the job of a programmer includes.

The school “Moj genijalac” uses STEAM and Montessori methods, which, with practical exercises, help children quickly acquire new knowledge, enter the world of programming, robotics, computer science and computing in a way they are familiar with.

Our programmers have presented to the children what a typical project looks like in the R&D department at “Heliant”, how to design mobile applications, the basics of backend coding and frontend design.

We took the little ones through the entire company and showed them our working environment and offices. A real delight was caused by a tour of our vacation area. The “playroom”, as the kids called it, with table football and games, was obviously the impression of the day.

The visit was inspiring for both the children and our employees. The children have shown creativity and a desire to learn, and our programmers were once again reminded how important the work they do is to generations to come.

Teacher Davor Jovanović and his team from “Moj genijalac” are doing a great job introducing children to the world of technology in a way that is fun and understandable.

The company “Heliant” is pleased to support such initiatives and we are looking forward to having the next meeting with the little geniuses!
