Information systems of the company “Heliant” implemented in primary healthcare centres Mali Zvornik and Vladimirci.

During this year, the company “Heliant” implemented the health information system Heliant Health, business Moneo and the laboratory Infolab LIS in the primary healthcare centres of two more municipalities in Western Serbia – Vladimirci and Mali Zvornik.

This has expanded the network of significant healthcare facilities in the Mačva District that use this IS and which are now integrated with the Public Health Institute Šabac, which brings many different benefits to patients, doctors and medical staff in this part of Serbia.

These primary healthcare centres can now electronically file referrals to PHI Šabac, as well as the other way around – delivering of verified results to primary healthcare centres that are automatically stored in electronic patient records

The directors of PHC Vladimirci and PHC Mali Zvornik, MD Branko Isailović and Valentina Ristić, confirmed for the portal heliant.rs the importance of the benefits their facilities had from this integration.

– “Connecting with the Public Health Institute Šabac has enabled patients not to have the obligation to take over the documentation, nor is it sent by email, but is entered directly into the patient’s electronic record and is immediately available to the doctor. It also happened that patients themselves interpreted the testing results they received, and this was often wrong,” says MD Branko Isailović.

Valentina Ristić, director of PHC Mali Zvornik, recalls that previously they received data from the Institute by mail:

“At the time of the postmen’s strike, I don’t know when the results would have reached us at all.” This is how, with the help of the Heliant information system, everything started to function”.

PHC Mali Zvornik implemented the health information system Heliant this year, followed by Moneo and Infolab LIS, which, according to Ristić, made operations and assistance to patients significantly more efficient.

“After several months of use, we have nothing but praise for all three programs. The employees had their own habits, we also have older employees, but they all got along quickly. We had trainings with the help of “Heliant” experts, so that after only one month, working in the programs became a routine,” says Valentina Ristić.

She points out that, in addition to the more efficient work of the entire PHC Mali Zvornik, the availability of data is now at a higher level, the work in the programs has been made easier, and any information important for patients can be found at any moment. At the same time, everything has been simplified for the various services that monitor the work of the facility and carry out evaluations.

“Given that the entire system is centralized, when we make various reports, everything flows into a central file. It is much easier to access the data when we do monthly, three-month or six-month analyses”, adds the director of PHC Vladimirci, MD Branko Isailović.

In addition to the availability of data and their selection in accordance with the needs of doctors or PHC staff, MD Isailović also likes the fact that colleagues can communicate with each other through the system, as a director it is important for him to be able to leave reminders. He says that anyone who does a little research on the programs can feel the benefits of accessing lots of data.

Valentina Ristić, as well as MD Branko Isailović, point out that “Heliant” information systems are constantly improved and refined according to the specific requirements of both facilities.

“In the previous program we used, we could not solve the problem of connecting with the electronic records of diabetics. At IS Heliant, we managed to do that. Now we input all patients automatically, as soon as the diagnosis of diabetes is entered. The program itself reminds us that the patient should be registered as a diabetic – that’s really great,” says Ristić.

“I really like the programs. Things that seemed complicated to me at some point, were clarified by Heliant experts soon. Heliant adapts quickly, both through the information received from healthcare facilities and from interviews with individuals,” MD Isailović points out.
