At the DSC Europe conference held from November 20 to 24 in the Sava Center, MD Nevena Veljković, Science and Research Manager in the company “Heliant”, delivered a lecture on the topic of using real-world data in healthcare and participated in the panel “AI-powered Health & Pharma”.

 

Data Science Conference Europe, as one of the largest international conferences dedicated to data and artificial intelligence, provides an opportunity to exchange ideas, experiences and the latest achievements in the field of data science. Every year, this event brings together industry leaders, decision makers, company owners, scientists, academic representatives and students from all over the world.

With over 500 speakers and 3,000 attendees, the DSC Europe conference covered a wide range of topics, including machine learning, natural language processing, machine vision and more. In addition, the conference hosted five other accompanying events focused on specific areas such as the application of artificial intelligence in medicine, Fintech and video game development, Cyber security, quantum computers, etc.

 

Speakers at the “AI in Public Health” session

 

On behalf of the “Heliant” company, MD Nevena Veljković, Science and Research Manager, participated as a speaker at the “AI in Public Health” session. By delivering the presentation on the topic “What We Talk About When We Talk About Real-world Data?”, MD Veljković presented the use of artificial intelligence in the analysis and interpretation of data (RWD) in healthcare.

Stefan Živković, a project coordinator at the “National Organization for Rare Diseases of Serbia” (NORBS), also participated in the mentioned session and highlighted the potential of artificial intelligence in the fight against rare diseases. Matija Dodović, the founder of “SignAvatar”, a software that translates speech into sign language using artificial intelligence, was the ideal speaker on the topic of breaking down communication barriers with the help of machine learning. Ivana Šešić, specialist in radiology and UNDP consultant, completed the session by delivering a lecture on the application of artificial intelligence in public health, and how it contributed to more accurate diagnostics and more efficient work. The session was followed by a panel discussion, where the previously mentioned participants had the opportunity to discuss all these topics from different perspectives.

On the same day, the accompanying event featured a panel titled “Future Trends in AI-Enhanced Healthcare: Insights from Industry and Academc Thought Leaders.” In addition to MD Veljković, the panel was attended by MD Mohamed Ramzi, head of artificial intelligence for systems biology at the pharmaceutical company “Johnson & Johnson” and MD Ognjen Milićević, ML Tech Lead at the company “HTEC Group”. The panel was moderated by Nebojša Šabović, co-founder and CTO of the company “Fuller Vision”.
