In cooperation with the company “Heliant” the medical education team of IFMSA-Serbia organized an exceptionally well-attended lecture for students and young physicians, with the aim of improving their use of the Heliant information system in the Emergency Centre of the UCC Serbia, which would help them to quickly and easily get involved in business processes.

On-duty hours at the Emergency Centre of the University Clinical Centre of Serbia are extremely tiring and require a great deal of effort from physicians. In addition to taking care of patients, a physician must also take care of proper management of medical records.

In order to facilitate the performance of this task to future physicians as easily as possible, in cooperation with the company “Heliant”, the Medical Education team of the Committee for International Cooperation of Medical Students IFMSA-Serbia led by Marko Dimitrijević, organized the first lecture for final year students and young physicians in the Emergency Centre’s library at the end of April with the aim of training them to use the Heliant health information system in a competent, quick and timely manner.

The idea for delivering a lecture was the result of the observance that many young physicians were still not sufficiently trained to use the information program, and that training would help them speed up their work and thus have more time to devote to patients.

The lecture was delivered by Danijela Marković, senior implementer at the company “Heliant”. During the lectures, students got familiarized with observations and experiences gained first during implementation, and then during constant communication with users from the Emergency centre.

Filip Maljković, head of software development department, participated in the presentation of the Heliant information system. The lecture was opened by MD Nevena Veljković, science and research manager, emphasizing the importance that the “Heliant” company had identified in connecting with the academic community.

Young physicians and students showed great interest in the lecture – just a few minutes after the announcement, all seats were taken, which was why it was proposed that the next lecture should be organized in a larger space. Their impressions of the lecture were very positive.
